Как обойти редактирование файла в wp-includes?

Добрый день,
В папке wp-includes есть очень нужный мне файл latest-posts.php, в который мне очень хочется воткнуть несколько строк:

Сижу смотрю ролики про хуки в WP, пока что не помогает.

P.S. Эти строки выводят мета-данные, сформированные ACF (кастомные поля поста) к каждому посту в блоке последних постов. Оригинальный latest-posts.php

После подобных замечательных правок в шаблоне у клиента перестаёт работать сайт при обновлении WordPress. Поимел проблему с 5.6 -> 5.7, "спасибо" web-мастеру.
