Как на apache 2.4 на debian сделать публичную папке не /var/www?

Взял VPS и на нем уже стоял apache. Обычно таких проблем не было, но я никак не могу понять, почему апач не видит мой document root.

Содержимое /etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf:

Я так полагаю, что с такими настройками при обращении по ip к моему серверу должно отображаться содержимое /var/www/html, но открывается /var/www. Что я делаю не так?

каким образом у вас должен открываться html если эта папка не указана.
Если вы пропишите root /var/www/html/; в конфигурационном файле настройки сайта в папке
sites-available тогда будет открываться html или та конечная папка какую вы пропищите.
