Почему не удается подключиться в PhpPgAdmin?

Добрый день!

В pgAdmin захожу с данными postgres/postges спокойно и вижу запущенные на данный момент серверы SQL, а вот в PhpPgAdmin с этими же данными вижу следующее сообщение: "Вход невозможен по соображениям безопасности".

Почему в pgAdmin сервер запущен, а в PhpPgAdmin показывается значок, что сервер не запущен?

Нужно найти конфиг phppgadmin (/etc/phppgadmin/config.inc.php - deb 7)
и указать там параметр
$conf['extra_login_security'] = false;

покажите pg_hba.conf
скорей всего вы локально подключаетесь по unix-сокету, а phppgadmin по ipv4 сокету.
