Работа с XML файлов в PHP 7.0.4?

Здравствуйте! Подскажите как правильно добавить или удалить элемент в xml файл? Какую стоит использовать библиотеку для версии PHP 7.0.4?

Мне нужно найти допустим элемент loc с ссылкой https://pres.ru.com/article/short/7 и удалить его
Проблема в том, что при обращении к данному элементу ничего не выводится
$siteMap["url"][3]

    	      $id = 7;
 $linkNews = $baseLink.$id;
                    //Путь к  карте сайта

Как найти тогда нужный элемент в данном массиве и удалить его?

$siteMap = simplexml_load_file($pathSiteMap);
$siteMap->url[3]
