Почему setAttribute("src","new") не меняет видео?

есть код

var element = document.getElementsByClassName("_video")[0];
element.setAttribute("src","/media/video/rain.mp4");

но они почему-то не дружат и код не меняет видео (в доках сказано юзать a.load() , но оно вообще в catch улетает)

var source = document.getElementsByClassName("_video")[0];
    
video.pause();

source.setAttribute("src","/media/video/rain.mp4");

video.load();
video.play();
