Как сделать копирование id родительского элемента?

Есть такой рабочий скрипт, который при нажатии на элемент <li id="exercise2"> копирует в буфер обмена ссылку страницы "текущая ссылка + #айди" , но если нажать на элемент <span> то ссылка копируется некорректно без айди "текущая ссылка + #". Как заставить скрипт копировать "текущая ссылка + #айди" родительского элемента при нажатии на дочерний элемент <span>, у которого нет айди?
