There are many people providing answers in the various Microsoft forums, mostly from Microsoft, whose job it seems is to confuse and obfuscate as much as possible.

Instead of answering the question, they ask a bunch of general questions and then start the person on a bunch of irrelevant and time consuming clean-up and general diagnostic procedures.
The file count column in explorer doesn't work and hasn't really worked since introduced in windows 7. It is just another example of Microsoft engineering toward dysfunctionality.
